November got off to a busy start here at Santamarca. We started the month with two long holiday weekends, celebrating All Saints Day and All Souls Day first and later the feast of Santa María de la Almudena.
Armstice Day just passed on November 11th, marking the centenary, the 100th anniversary, of the ending of World War I.
Now, the students are hard at work, studying and preparing for their upcoming exams.
Next up is the popular American holiday, Thanksgiving, which is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November every year. It´s a time to spend with family and to give thanks for the many blessings we have in our lives. Reflecting on what they are thankful for, many students have said how much they appreciate their friends and family.
We´ll end the month with St. Andrew´s Day, Scotland´s National Day.
We wish everyone a great rest of the month and are looking forward to the start of the Christmas season in December!
